Meet the newest neighbors at Wild Oaks!

The newest residents of Grand Haven aren't your average neighbors. We wouldn't recommend bringing cookies to their home, but we do strongly encourage you to take a walk over to the dog park in Wild Oaks to see what all the excitement is about. A pair of Bald Eagles have nested in one of the trees and are rearing an eaglet - sure to be testing his wings very soon.

Some residents have made it part of their daily routine. Eat breakfast, walk the dog, watch the eagles. "It is truly an amazing thing to experience," said Jim Cullis, regional manager with LandMar. "To see these majestic birds in the wild, especially a pair such as this, is worth the wait." Although the baby eaglet is always in the nest, the parents spend most of their time hunting.

Eagles tend to build nests close to water - along the coast or near waterways - Grand Haven offers both. "We always knew Grand Haven's location and proximity to major waterways was a big selling point," said Cullis, "We just didn't realize nature felt the same way."
